Born in Ayr, Scotland, about 30 miles Southwest of Glasgow, David started his career in telecommunications at British Rail Signals and Telecommunications. In 2006, he immigrated to Calgary with this experience, in addition to certifications in electrical engineering and management from Kilmarnock College and Ayr College. He has been an integral piece of the TP Communications team for over 4 years now, and has been in the telecom industry for almost 40 years. His vast experience has earned him the title of infrastructure expert at TP, and when David arrives on site, you can rest easy knowing that his keen attention to detail and relentless work ethic all but ensure everything is going to look pristine and be completed as efficiently as possible. Once David has organized your data rack, you will understand what we are talking about!
A bit of a perfectionist, one of the most enjoyable parts of David’s day is completing cabling work with absolute precision. In addition, he enjoys teaching the next generation of telecom technicians, and ensuring clients have the right infrastructure in place not only for tomorrow, but years to come. On his walking interview 4 years ago, it was quickly determined that Dave was going to be an excellent fit at TP because without prompting while he was waiting on Eric, he started fixing the cables around him to make them look more professional and presentable. Always willing to go the extra mile, David is an invaluable asset to the TP team.
Outside of the server room, Dave spends as much time as he can with his wife and best friend Sharron, their son, Callum, and dog, Willow. In the summer you can always find Dave working on his handicap at the golf course, and relaxing at his trailer in Waterton. When the snow comes, David prefers hitting the slopes with Sharron, playing pickleball, or curling. Born in Ayr, Scotland, his favorite course, Carnoustie, is back home, however, his home course Speargrass certainly does the trick in Canada.
